What we do
What is pipe and drape?
A freestanding frame of upright poles on weighted bases, with crossbars across the top, hung with fabric panels. It builds backdrops, entrances, room dividers and booth walls anywhere, indoors or out, without touching the venue's walls.
What does Pipe It Up do?
We design, hang and strike drapery: photo, ceremony, head table and stage backdrops; entryways, grand entrances and reveal curtains; room dividers and hide-the-venue walls; vendor booths; and signature tree, ceiling and beam installs. Weddings first, with corporate nights, galas, markets and shows in the mix.
What don't you do?
Linens, table skirting, centerpieces or anything that lives on a horizontal surface. Glassware and bar rentals come through our Bar-Key family as add-ons on a Bar-Key quote.
How big can you go?
Instant prices cover backdrops up to 10 ft tall and 50 ft wide. Bigger than that, we price it with you, because it means extra equipment for your date.
Where do you work?
We're based in Oklahoma City and travel across Oklahoma. Inside 30 miles of OKC there's no travel fee. Past that, travel is a flat fee per crew member: $25 out to 60 miles, $60 out to 150 miles and $120 out to 270 miles. Beyond 270 miles we plan travel and lodging with you.
Pricing
How much does pipe and drape cost?
A basic 10 ft x 10 ft backdrop with two cross swags is $250, and room dividers are $125 per 10 ft section. Fuller builds start higher: a 20 ft ceremony backdrop starts at $950 and entryways at $625. Every price is all-in: drapes, hardware, a two-person crew for load-in and strike, travel inside the OKC metro and estimated sales tax. The Set List prices your exact setup in a couple of minutes.
Why one price instead of a line-item quote?
Because you're booking a finished scene, not a parts list. Your proposal is one all-in number with the deliverables written underneath: what we hang, how big, and who's on the crew.
Do you charge sales tax?
Yes, on the rental value of the drapes and hardware, at the rate for your venue's location. Your proposal includes an estimate, and your final invoice figures the exact tax after your final fabric choices.
How much is the deposit?
Half of your proposal, before sales tax, secures your date. The deposit isn't refundable, because it buys the materials, the equipment and the first phase of labor for your event. The full invoice is due 7 days before your event.
What if we cancel or change the date?
More than 30 days out, any payment beyond the deposit comes back to you. Or reschedule instead: a further 20% payment, counted toward your final total, secures the new date. Within 30 days of the event, half of any payments beyond the deposit comes back. Within 7 days, nothing is refundable.
Booking
Do you do consultations?
Yes, and the first one is free: a 15-minute call or Google Meet. When the room needs it, we come out for an on-site design walkthrough at $150 per visit, plus one travel fee when the venue is more than 30 miles from OKC.
How do I book?
Mark your pieces on the Set List and build your proposal. You get your all-in price and your client portal on the spot, and your proposal, contract, deposit and planning all live there. Rather talk first? Book a free 15-minute call.
Can we rent your stuff without drapery?
Our three white pillars ($150), the Coke cooler ($250) and our decor packages (from $300) rent through your client portal. Glassware and bars come through Bar-Key.
The day
How long does setup take?
A basic backdrop is about an hour and a half to set and an hour to strike with a two-person crew. Bigger scenes take longer, and we plan load-in with your venue so the room is finished before your guests arrive.
Can you set up outdoors?
Yes. Our tree swags live outdoors, and backdrops can too on the right ground. Wind, rain and heat call the shots, and if the weather makes an install unsafe we change the plan with you.
What happens at the end of the night?
We strike it: down, packed and out. When the venue is 45 miles or more from OKC, the hours the crew waits on site to tear down are added to your invoice, unless Bar-Key is behind the bar at your event.
